I stumbled upon this band while looking for things to do in Kyoto on my holiday next year. Now I watch them every so often, they’re so cheerful, great musicians and dancers. I just love the quirky choreography. It sure looks like their having fun too. They always rock it out, brilliant.
I'm wanting to move to Kyoto, Japan. I would Watch this Band and Ride Hondas and such. If I could convince those it may concern to travel on the right side of the road, then it would be Perfection.
When I was in our Highschool band, we could not march in time or keep a straight line. My band teacher was fixated on the song The Horse and insisted on playing it at every performance. We sounded like the Hootersville Community band. Congratulations Kyoto! I know the hard work that went into this.
Just think about the stamina. I read the Background from their website. It turns out that a girl snare drummer back in 2005 had seen the play "Burn the Floor" and came back and told her coach that their whole program was stupid and needed fixing. She wanted all sorts of dance choreography added on top of just marching around. They had to reinvent how a Band could even train for all of that (music, dance, formation marching, and running laps for stamina and endurance... and they had to find the time for everything. Yeah, that Band was a Revolution in what is now expected of 'Marching" Bands.
I'm ex-American Military, seen war. Not much brings a smile to my face. BUT we I listen and watch these young people, the smile comes out and its hard to stop smiling.
I was watching the French Horns, and thinking that would probably be the worst instrument to play while doing these routines. I played brass instruments and would not march with the french horn. Trumpet is what I played for marching.
I love how awesome the low brass sounds on all these videos, just like everyone else commenting, I've been addicted to this band ever since I learned about them. A big shout out to the Kyoto Tachibana SHS Band. You all are without a doubt the best in the world. cheers !!
Extremely well done. Especially the one that played 'the rose' absolutely fantastic !! Well done watching from Houston Texas United States. You guys are awesome !!
DUDE. I have never seen these guys before. The way the tone is so still with ALL of those movements. Yes, there is some wavering, but if you've ever marched you know how hard it is to play still with ANY movement, let alone what these kids are doing. Kudos. Great ALL the way around!!!!
I know nothing about those kind of instruments and marching band, but wondering how hard they playing those instruments while synchronizing their moves to each other making me shivering.
I marched with a couple of amazing girls from Japan for the 96 season of DCI. The Japanese seem to be instilled with crazy good attention to detail and tonality. I wish they had DCI going big out there. We would see some of the best ever. USA drum and bugle is a male dominant show. We could learn a thing or two. Such precision is mind blowing.
Wow, these kids are great! I can't imagine the training and the lung capacity of the performers, that's a lot of work. I'd much rather see talented young people like these at the SB half time show than rich, attention addicted celebrities.
search for this HS band from Kyoto performing "Sing, Sing, Sing". I know they play it here, but on stage performance it is something Goodman, Krupa, and Prima would have applauded.

Now excuse me as I watch it again, just to make sure I wasn't dreaming that every single girl looked like they had exactly the same body, and hair, and did they really play that for realz while they were dancing like that - and was the precision I saw really that precise?

I don’t know what I’m more impressed by, the clarinets and flutes using their instruments as batons, or the sousaphone dancing.
@@clutchpedalreturnsprg7710 Japan does use the right side of the road - the left :)

lol
When I was in our Highschool band, we could not march in time or keep a straight line. My band teacher was fixated on the song The Horse and insisted on playing it at every performance. We sounded like the Hootersville Community band. Congratulations Kyoto! I know the hard work that went into this.
You don’t happen to have been in my band?
Or is an unhealthy fixation on The Horse just a universal trait of band directors
They still got it, those Orange Devils!
The quality of music while dancing is amazing!
Quite simply the best band of their type in the world.
I played in a major college marching band and I'm still impressed at these performers.
We can’t even get our stand tunes right and they took it to a whole level 💀😂
I'm ex-American Military, seen war. Not much brings a smile to my face. BUT we I listen and watch these young people, the smile comes out and its hard to stop smiling.
The world class Tachibana SHS Marching Band. The best there is.
yo their brass section is out of this world, hell this whole band is amazing.
and you can hear their f horns toooo
I was watching the French Horns, and thinking that would probably be the worst instrument to play while doing these routines. I played brass instruments and would not march with the french horn. Trumpet is what I played for marching.
I love how awesome the low brass sounds on all these videos, just like everyone else commenting, I've been addicted to this band ever since I learned about them. A big shout out to the Kyoto Tachibana SHS Band. You all are without a doubt the best in the world. cheers !!
From a French old geezer who has lived more than 40years in Japan! Respect and a big thanks for making me dream again!
Tuba players gotta be in shape...christ...i would be laying on the field, not able to catch my breath trapped beneath my tuba.....Great Video....
This is the most perfect, polished and organized band I've ever seen. I was shocked when they started to swing with the old tunes.
Extremely well done. Especially the one that played 'the rose' absolutely fantastic !! Well done watching from Houston Texas United States. You guys are awesome !!
Words can't describe how good they did they're so skilled and so talented my heart was filled with joy watching them play and dance
DUDE. I have never seen these guys before. The way the tone is so still with ALL of those movements. Yes, there is some wavering, but if you've ever marched you know how hard it is to play still with ANY movement, let alone what these kids are doing. Kudos. Great ALL the way around!!!!
Why do i feel like even their hairs flop the same way too
I love this band.
I'm so amazed to see those girls dancing with just a neckstrap for their baritone saxophones... those are insanely heavy...
「BURN THE FLOOR」から取り入れた「SING SING SING」
I know nothing about those kind of instruments and marching band, but wondering how hard they playing those instruments while synchronizing their moves to each other making me shivering.

the sound quality they're getting is impossible unless they're all giving 200% effort. Very talented and hard-working group of people.
the choreography with live instruments? absolutely astounding
The breath control is strong with this group.
The absolute best HS marching band in the world
Estou viciado nos vídeos da Tachibana 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I was in a marching band back in Highschool 2011-2014. Fun memories.
Wow, these kids are great! I can't imagine the training and the lung capacity of the performers, that's a lot of work. I'd much rather see talented young people like these at the SB half time show than rich, attention addicted celebrities.
Never seen an American High School or college band like this. They are so entertaining and are master musicians
search for this HS band from Kyoto performing "Sing, Sing, Sing". I know they play it here, but on stage performance it is something Goodman, Krupa, and Prima would have applauded.
PITBULL WOULD BE PROUD…. “FIREBALL”
The problem being this perfect is that anyone with a minor mistake will be greatly magnified.
I used to be in a Drum Corps many years ago. We were even UK champions. We never did anything like this. I would love to watch one of their competitions.
There are 2 different Band Associations in Japan.
1.... All Japan Band Association _(Military)_
2....Japan Marching Band Association _(Show)_

I absolutely love when they flip their shoes around! It looks like they’re floating on a cushion of air!
A quality performance right there. Great choreography with no negative impact on the music. Many American marching bands could learn a lot from this ensemble. Just great.
The best ever. Thank you very much Kyoto Tachibana for all your effort and excellence!
It’s so cool to see French horns mixed in instead of just melaphones! Props to them (I play French horn)
I played trumpet and that is a very "pure" sound at 4:27
It's 2:30am and I couldn't sleep here in New York, USA and this popped up in my feed. What in the hell did I just see?! I personally am a Trojan, but I must admit - I fell head over heels for this crazy girl band of badass musicians. Now excuse me as I watch it again, just to make sure I wasn't dreaming that every single girl looked like they had exactly the same body, and hair, and did they really play that for realz while they were dancing like that - and was the precision I saw really that precise? Because I can't believe it! Awesome.
🔥
BEST marching band I have ever seen. Darn proud to watch and listen to y'all play.
This is great Entertainment that takes an American Highschool marching band concept and melds with Japanese culture to create a unique and fun form of music! Congratulations on doing it so well!
I'd hate to know how long they practice all my years of marching band in school this is the most interesting style I've seen and i got to say they definitely take pride in their band the iowa marching band associ.ation would definitely take interest in this band with their style
They practice 360 out of 365 days in the year, 38 hours per week. Keep in mind this is an after school club activity and on top of keeping up with band practice, they also have to maintain their grades too.
Oh...they played Bett Midler's "the Rose". Love it.
6:03 Lovely old classic, "Sing, Sing, Sing" by Benny Goodman.
